Portable, with no laptop. Plyomat is a force-based contact mat. The athlete jumps on a polyurethane switch mat and the Controller 3.0 detects ground contact directly. Results show on an on-device screen and in the free Plyomat 3.0 app, so a coach can test a full squad pitchside or in the gym with no computer to set up and no LED bars to align.

The metrics a programme needs, in metric. Plyomat measures CMJ jump height, ground contact time, Reactive Strength Index (RSI), and DRI (Dynamic Rebound Index), reporting jump height in centimetres and metres. It is independently force-plate validated, agreeing within about 1 centimetre of an AccuPower force plate (ICC 0.85, r≈0.97), so the numbers slot straight into a sports science or strength and conditioning report.

Chronojump is the system European coaches most often weigh up against Plyomat: an open-source contact platform with a loyal following, but largely a self-build or assembled kit that needs a laptop at the point of testing and your own time for setup and support. Subscription wearable systems such as Output Sports (Dublin) are also popular in European programmes, and they are genuinely useful for broad movement tracking. The trade-off is the ongoing licence fee: testing that costs again every year. Plyomat is a one-time purchase — for squad jump, contact-time, and RSI testing there is no subscription on anything, so the price you pay is the price it costs.
