The partnership
Building Plyomat has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done as a coach. It started as an honest frustration with the tools available to field-based practitioners, grew into a product used by coaches and athletes across the country, and has now reached a point where the next step requires more than I can build alone.
Andrew and Ashleigh Walters are investing in Plyomat, and I could not be more grateful for what that means for where we go from here.
Why Drew and Ashleigh
Their story with Plyomat did not start in a boardroom. It started at a training facility here in Knoxville, watching their kids train and compete. They experienced firsthand what it looks like when athletes have access to objective performance data and coaches have a tool that makes consistent measurement practical, which is the cornerstone of how we approach long-term athletic development at Triple F Elite Sports Training where I serve as the Director of Athletic Development. Ashleigh and Drew saw how it changed the conversation between coaches, athletes, and parents. They also saw the bigger picture of what Plyomat could become with the right resources behind it.
Drew brings real business experience and the kind of operational clarity that a company at this stage needs to scale. Ashleigh brings a deep understanding of the athlete development world from a perspective I genuinely value: the parent who has sat in the bleachers, navigated the recruiting process, and watched how measurement and accountability shape an athlete over time. Together, they bring things to this partnership that I simply could not replicate on my own.
The mission
I started down this road back in 2014 at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, where an early obsession with reactive strength and elasticity eventually convinced me that coaches needed a better way to measure those qualities in real training environments. That conviction became Plyomat five years ago.
"The mission has not changed. What is changing is our capacity to pursue it.
Plyomat 3.0
With this investment, we are putting more time, more resources, and more focused development into Plyomat than at any point since we launched. The new app is the centerpiece of that work. Plyomat 3.0 is a full rebuild of the platform around the hardware coaches already own.
A full rebuild.
- Athlete profiles
- Cloud-based data
- Live Reactive Strength Quadrant on every rep
- Dozens of reports
- Dynamic Rebound Index
- Multi-station sync
- Open API
- Free for every owner
The live Reactive Strength Quadrant on every rep, an open API for programs running an athlete management system, and the Dynamic Rebound Index are the pieces I am most excited to put in coaches' hands.
What is next
What excites me most about this chapter is not just the product. It is the shared belief that brought us here. The Walters did not come to the table because they saw a business opportunity. They came because they understood the problem Plyomat was built to solve and wanted to be part of solving it at a larger scale. That alignment is rare, and it is the foundation this kind of partnership needs to actually work.
Coaches put enormous amounts of time and energy into athlete development with limited resources, limited staffing, and constant pressure to produce results. Plyomat exists to give that work a measurement layer it has always deserved. With this new ownership, we are better positioned than we have ever been to deliver on that.
